TWO NAPERVILLE RESIDENTS JOIN HARRINGTON COLLEGE OF DESIGN

Rebecca Jones and Astrid Larsen, both of Naperville, recently joined the Harrington College of Design as local admissions representatives.

Jones and Larsen are responsible for recruiting new Chicago area and suburban students to the college, as well as assisting the students with enrollment and advising them through the admissions process.

Prior to joining Harrington, Jones worked for a recruiting firm in the western suburbs. She graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a degree in international studies and French. Larsen worked for CPS, Inc., a technical recruiting company, and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in political science.

The Harrington College of Design, is a four-year college that offers flexible scheduling for a bachelor degree in interior design, an associate of applied science degree, a professional diplomas in interior design and a kitchen and bath certificate program.

Founded in Chicago in 1931, Harrington seeks to foster an environment that maximizes students’ intellectual and artistic potentials. The majority of the faculty is practicing interior design, architecture and fine art professionals. The National Association of School of Arts and Design accredit Harrington, and the bachelors program is accredited by the Foundation for Interior Designers Education Research (FIDER). The Illinois Board of Higher Education also recognizes Harrington.

The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
