CHICAGO, IL (January 30, 2007) - Harrington College of Design announced today that Afiya Adams, founder of AHA Designs, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Harrington College Board of Governors.
Adams, 33, of Chicago, and her mother Johnene run one of the premier interior design firms in the city, providing distinctive environments for luxury residential and commercial boutique clients since 1998. The mother-daughter team is known for their contemporary global style and creating ‘rooms of discovery.'
Adams has been featured in both national and local media outlets such as ABC TV, Elle Décor, Homes of Color, Interior Design Magazine, Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times as well as numerous other publications. She was honored with the ‘Rising Star' Award by Fashion Group International, received an ‘Exemplary Design Mentor' award from the Osmosis Organization and AHA was one of nine featured design firms in The Merchandise Mart's first DreamHome.
